A win at last.
In hot and humid conditions the Crusaders took on a Colts Cricket Club Academy Under 16 XI in their first game in Colombo.
Batting first the Crusaders made 9/335 off their 45overs. Kevin Spaull top scored with 73, Bailen Clarke (57), Blake Symons (47), Nathan Kincaid (42), Connor Rutland (22) Sean Philips- Williams(20) and James Horn (18) all made useful contributions.
Prasad 2/24 and Danish 2/64 were the best of their bowlers and 3 of our guys got run out.
In reply the Colts were all out for 129 in the 35th over. Ishara 37 and Damsith 18 were the top scorers for them. The wickets were shared around – Jack Le Brun 2/26, Declan Foley 2/13, Lindsay Edwards 1/5 James Horn 1/18 and Bailen Clarke 1/8. Tom Edwards behind the stumps took 3 catches and was involved in 3 run outs.
Let’s hope this is the start of a winning sequence.
