SRI LANKA TOUR - St.JOSEPH'S SCHOOL COLOMBO
7 Jul 2016 by Ken Salmon
Three wins in a row to end the tour having played 7 games won 3, lost 3 and drawn 1.
Crusaders batted first on the hottest day of the trip and decided to bat. We were all out, if you include 3 batsmen “retired out”, for 282. James Horn led the way with 53, Freddy Day retired on 51, Kevin Spaull 45 and Connor Rutland 35 were also retired and Bailen Clarke made 30.
In reply the schoolboys were all out for 234, which include a rapid 91 by Lakshan Ganage in 55 minutes, 27 by both Shevaan and Dinal and 27 again by Yanik but he was not out at the end. Bailen Clarke took 4/47 off 14 overs, Blake Symons 3/26 and there was a wicket each for Declan Foyle, Kevin Spaull and Nathan Kincaid.
Our first tour to Sri Lanka has now ended but, from all the good reports, I don’t think it will be our last
